As you settle in, our expert mountain guide will meet you for a pre-trek briefing, where you’ll go over the itinerary, check your trekking gear, and receive essential tips for a successful summit. If you need any additional equipment, we can assist with rentals.

Enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel, resting up for the adventure ahead. You may choose to explore Moshi town or simply unwind with views of Kilimanjaro in the distance.

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our Mi-Adventures Safari team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. After check-in, you’ll meet your mountain guide for a pre-trek briefing and gear check. Enjoy dinner and rest before your adventure begins.

Day 2: Londorossi Gate (2,200m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,850m)

After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before heading to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin a 3–4 hour trek through lush rainforest, home to colobus monkeys and diverse birdlife, arriving at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp – Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)

Trek through the last stretch of rainforest before ascending to the Shira Plateau, offering stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp for an overnight stay.

• Accommodation: Shira 1 Camp
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)

A gentle trek across the Shira Plateau with breathtaking landscapes. This is an important acclimatization day, allowing your body to adjust to higher altitudes before the steep climbs ahead.
• Hiking Distance: 7 km (3–4 hours)
• Accommodation: Shira 2 Camp
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower (4,630m) – Barranco Camp (3,976m)

A crucial acclimatization trek, ascending to Lava Tower, then descending to Barranco Camp. Enjoy panoramic views and the iconic Barranco Wall, which you’ll tackle the next day.

• Accommodation: Barranco Camp
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (3,995m)

Start the day with a scramble up Barranco Wall, followed by a scenic trek through alpine terrain to Karanga Camp. A short but essential acclimatization day.

• Accommodation: Karanga Camp
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673m) – Summit Attempt (5,895m)

Trek to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit push. After an early dinner, rest before starting your ascent at midnight towards Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
• Hiking Distance: 4 km (3–4 hours) to Barafu, then 5 km (6–8 hours) to the summit
• Accommodation: Barafu Camp (Pre-Summit)
• Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp (3,100m) – Moshi

Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, celebrating your achievement before descending to Mweka Camp for a short rest. Continue down to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate before returning to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
