7-days Rongai Route – The Remote and Scenic Path to Kilimanjaro’s Summit

The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. Known for its less crowded paths, this route offers a gradual ascent, making it an excellent choice for trekkers seeking a steady and scenic climb.

Unlike other routes, Rongai provides a drier climate, reducing the chances of rain and making it a great option for trekking year-round. The trail passes through diverse landscapes, from lush forests and moorlands to the alpine desert, before reaching the breathtaking Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

With high summit success rates and a gentle acclimatization profile, Rongai is ideal for those looking for a quiet, remote, and rewarding Kilimanjaro experience.
