Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be welcomed by our Mi-Adventures Safari representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you will meet your mountain guide for a briefing and gear check. Get a good night’s rest before your adventure begins.

Day 2: Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (3,000m)
Trekking Time: 5–7 hours

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate for registration. The trek begins through the rainforest, where you may spot Colobus monkeys and various bird species. The trail gradually ascends to Machame Camp, where you will spend the night under the stars.

Day 3: Machame Camp (3,000m) to Shira Camp (3,840m)
Trekking Time: 4–6 hours
Distance: 5 km

Leave the rainforest and enter the heather and moorland zone, with breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau. The trek is shorter today, allowing time to acclimatize at Shira Camp.

Day 4: Shira Camp (3,840m) to Lava Tower (4,630m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)
Trekking Time: 6–8 hours

Today is an important acclimatization day. Hike up to Lava Tower (4,630m), where you will have lunch before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Begin the day by tackling the Barranco Wall, a fun but challenging climb that rewards you with spectacular views. The trek continues through rolling terrain before reaching Karanga Camp.

A short but steep trek brings you to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. Rest and have an early dinner before preparing for the midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Trekking Time: 12–16 hours
Distance: 17 km

Wake up around midnight for the final push to the summit. Trek through the freezing night, reaching Stella Point (5,739m) before making the final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa! Celebrate your achievement, take photos, and then descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 8: Mweka Camp (3,080m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Departure
Trekking Time: 3–4 hours
Distance: 10 km

A final descent through the rainforest leads you to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. After celebrating your success, transfer back to your hotel in Arusha/Moshi for a hot shower and relaxation. Later, transfer to the airport for your departure or continue with a safari or beach extension in Zanzibar.
